BTCEB was formed in 1987, and helped create the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) in 1988. The work of BTCEB is essential in keeping trails open for mountain biking. By joining BTCEB you'll be supporting grass roots mountain bike advocacy, meet other mountain bikers, and learn about great trails to ride.

COME OUT AN RIDE. We have a group ride calendar with over 500 members and host a monthly Gala Ride the 2nd Saturday of the month. We have a Women's only ride, Ride Like a Girl, the 1st Saturday of the month and Youth Mountain Bike Adventures rides from May through October.

BTCEB Gala Ride - 2nd Saturday of the month

GalaPlease join us for our monthly Gala ride the 2nd Saturday of every month for a casually paced social group ride at one of the many great parks in the east bay. Check out our Group Ride Calendar for the location of the next Gala. We begin meeting at 9:00 am and hit the trail promptly at 9:30 am.

This no-drop ride is fun and includes most levels - both men and women. Most importantly, we ride together and find camaraderie in the sport. Rides generally last 2 to 3 hours. Ride is free and open to the public and led by experienced local mountain bikers familiar with the trails. Afterwards we regroup for snacks and socializing.

We normally begin meeting at 9:00 am and hit the trail promptly at 9:30 am. For info and location on the next ride visit our Ride Calendar. If you have questions or want to help please e-mail Karen.

Youth Mountain Bike Adventures

YMBA RideAt Youth Mountain Bike Adventures we take a group of inner-city kids on what is sometimes their first visit to an East Bay Park. We teach them the basics of safe mountain biking, provide a healthy lunch, and give them a helmet and a T-shirt to take home. More importantly these kids get a great sense of accomplishment and satisfaction from mastering the trails and the hills and their bikes, which we also maintain and provide.

Please come ride with us and have some fun showing these kids a good time. Every kid gets an adult BTCEB member guide who accompanies them throughout the ride. The guide explains the basics of trail riding and also shows them the beauties of the parks where we ride.

We always welcome and encourage riders (BTCEB members or not) to come and ride with us to learn about the program and see how much fun we have. You have to be a current dues paying member of BTCEB to be a "guide" for one of our youth riders. Please RSVP on our Group Ride Calendar.
