The Bicycle Trails Council is dedicated to preserving and expanding trails for mountain biking. From local parks to state government - we are active with programs that educate trail builders, promote responsible riding, and advocate for increased trail access. By joining you can have a major impact on advancing all aspects of mountain biking throughout Contra Costa and Alameda counties.
Love The Trails
Our trail crews excel at planning, design, and construction of trails in our local parks. Drawing on decades of trail building expertise, BTC members have volunteered countless hours to build new trails and improve existing ones, which helps assure continuing trail access for our sport. We also provide a high-quality experience for volunteers, making trail work FUN!
We have a group ride calendar with over 1000 members and host several monthly rides. Our marquee ride is the monthly Gala Ride - led by experienced local riders who know the trails and offer a group for all skill and fitness levels. Afterward, we regroup for snacks and refreshments. This is a great way to learn new trails and meet others from the east bay at your skill level.
Our monthly women-only ride, Ride Like a Girl, is all about having FUN and meeting other women who love to ride. We have rides geared towards all level of riders with experience leaders.
Youth Mountain Bike Adventures
Our long-standing YMBA program takes a group of under served kids on what is sometimes their first visit to an East Bay Park. We maintain and provide all the bikes and teach the basics of safe mountain biking. We provide a healthy lunch and give helmets and t-shirts for the kids to take home! More importantly these kids get a great sense of accomplishment and satisfaction from learning a new skill.
By educating cyclists in how to coexist with hikers and equestrians the BTCEB created and developed the tools that have become the model for advocacy groups all over the U.S. When you join BTCEB, you are helping build a brighter future for mountain bike enthusiasts throughout the east bay!
